From our desk...

People's Powerlink is a group of people who set about the creation of a fact-finding-forum on the Sunrise Powerlink proposal. We knew that we needed to find out the truth behind the motivations to place 150ft., 500kv transmission lines through the heart of Anza Borrego State Park and our precious San Diego County backcountry. Through the process of meeting together and uncovering facts, we have developed a more clear picture of what is going on. We have developed alternatives to the transmission lines that aim to march 120 miles across our county. These alternatives include upgrading existing facilities; introduction of rooftop solar panels; and conservation. We believe that when energy is generated close to its actual use, it will be more efficient and reliable. Please join us for an on-going dialogue on this matter.
