Dear Supervisor Horn,
Re: We Protest SDG&Es Proposed Sunrise Powerlink
We only recently learned of the SDG&E and Sempra Energy plan to run 500-kv lines on 150-foot towers for 120 miles, through the Ranchita/San Felipe Anza Borrego area, from Mexico to Los Angeles (a.k.a. Sunrise Powerlink), with no beneficial service to San Diego.
*RANCHITA/SAN FELIPE/WARNER SPRINGS OPPOSE THIS POWERLINK. Please be advised that the hundreds of citizens present at the standing-room only Warner Community meeting on January 11 were unanimous in their opposition to the Sunrise Powerlink. Additionally, the board of the Ranchita/San Felipe Community Center unanimously oppose this powerlink as well and voted to send this message to you.
*WE REQUESTALL PUBLIC HEARINGS TO BE HELD IN SAN DIEGO EAST COUNTY. We wish to thank Judge Kim Malcolm for moving the pre-hearing conference to San Diego and request that all further conferences be held in San Diego, preferably East County, in the areas most directly affected by the proposed Powerlink. We also request that local residents be notified of these hearings well in advance and receive adequate information on the development of the project.
*PLEASE SUPPORT OUR PROTEST AGAINST THE SUNRISE POWERLINK, WHICH PLACES OUR HEALTH AND HERITAGE IN JEAPARDY. We would sincerely appreciate your support in opposing the Sunrise Powerlink project. It would seriously jeopardize the health, prosperity, serenity and scenic beauty of much of this virgin backcountry, which is so valuable to our California heritage and the birthright of our future generations.
Sincerely yours,
